King Jerome.

 

 

Painting of Katharina of Württemberg, Jerome's second wife. He married her on August 22, 1807, and she was a daughter of the newly made King Friedrich von Württemberg. The intention was to strenghten the dynastical ties between France and Germany.

After Jerome's flight in 1813, the Württemberg Household wanted her to divorce Jerome, but she refused. She stayed with him until she died and their children were born in exile.
